The Presidential race dilemma.
The entry of former Georgia Congressman Bob Barr is going to be a real challenge to John McCain's ability to win the Presidency. In fact, I think it causes him to lose ultimately because of the dilemma it creates with disaffected Republicans like me. While I believe that the Republican Party's basic core values relflect my own values, our party's nominee doesnt. So hence the dilemma. Do I vote for a third party candidate like Bob Barr, thereby ensuring that our nation gets a President that is virtually the opposite of my values, or hold my nose and vote for John McCain? The lesser of two evils approach is a tradition in American politics and I have to look at what I think is right for me, my family and the nation. Sen Obama or Clinton are not good for the US in my opinion, so I will vote for McCain. OUCH!

Here's hoping for a good running mate
Jeff,
As for me, I'll support McCain. He's not my first choice (Romney was -- here's hoping he's the VP!), but I'd say I agree with him 60-70% of the time...and I believe it was Ronald Reagan who said if someone agrees with me 70% of the time, that doesn't make him my enemy.
Here are the areas I agree with McCain:
McCain's Running Mate
I will have to go against my better judgement and hold me nose and vote McCain. I really disagree with his immigration stance but
I agree with most of the rest of his policies except of course Gloabal Warming.
I would like for McCain's running mate to be Romney as well. I would settle for Joe Lieberman though.
