Global warming madness by Oregon bureaucrat
Today's Oregonian features an article about at DEQ bureaucrat who is religiously devoted to the myth of human caused global warming to the extent that he wants to start measuring and reporting the CO2 emissions of what is called "consumption related emissions". In other words, trying to measure how much CO2 was released in the manufacturing of all kinds of things that you use every day like your car, coffee cup and normal household items.
Never mind that no matter what we do in Oregon or America, it will make no difference in total world wide CO2 emissions because China and India are not going to stop their massive movement into CO2 emitting industrialization and that the earth actually cooled this year because of lower sunspot activity. No, never mind that man only produces less than 3% of the world's total CO2 emissions released every year into the atmosphere.
None of that matters to bureaucrats like this guy who is spending your tax money for a study to try to measure this type of thing. So you are probably wondering why he is doing this right?
Well, it is all politics folks!
You see, if they can make CO2 levels look worse than they really are, then it makes the climate alarmist's case stronger for public policy decisions to try to deal with it. This is all meant to create a momentum for the next legislature to pass economy damaging cap and trade or carbon tax legislation. And guess who will pay the price for that?
You in higher prices for everything and the loss of jobs. All for nothing, because the actual evidence shows clearly that the earth does this every few thousand years and always has.
