Go get the bad guys!

So what that the Portland police have a list of repeat offenders who are often arrested? Where there is smoke there is fire and people who repeatedly get arrested for property crimes, drug dealing, prostitution ect... obviously have a problem. The ACLU says this practice is unconstitutional because it pegs people unfairly because it is based on arrests and not convictions and that there is no way to appeal being on the list.

I would like the ACLU show me where in the constitution that it prohibits keeping track of people who repeatedly  demonstrate a callous disreagard for the law. How is this different from their official arrest record, which is in esscence a list also? They also say that people on the list should have the ability to appeal their names being on the list. Beyond the obvious ridiculousness of that argument, why should people who are repeat offendersbe granted special rights, which is what an appeal process in this instance would be.

Obviously, the ACLU and these defense attorneys are ignoring the will of the people who just passed a prinicpled initiative that puts repeat drug and property offenders in prison sooner, based on multiple convictions and arrests.

Too bad the ACLU doesnt take the same agressive attitude towards fighting for victims rights.
